My name is Inge Slootjes-Oostveen. When I made my study choice at the age of 17, I wanted to go in a scientific direction. I then chose laboratory education at the HTS in Eindhoven. My graduation directions were medical microbiology and molecular biology. I have years of research experience in the pharmaceutical world, including cancer and Alzheimer's. My research focused mainly on molecules and receptors that are located in the neurological area. I then designed and set up tests to be able to demonstrate all kinds of infectious diseases at the molecular level (so-called PCR). After 9 years of doing all kinds of research, I finally dared to take the step. I started new training courses. During my career, I discovered that I was working for people, albeit behind the scenes, but I missed the direct contact with the patients. In 2005 I started the Mesology training at the Academy for Integral Medicine in Amsterdam. This is a 6-year training, of which I was able to skip the first year due to my previous education. In the meantime I have also successfully completed the training to become a neurofeedback trainer, orthomolecular slimming consultant and Life coach. Mesology, slimming, Life coaching and neurofeedback complement each other perfectly. The whole person is examined in this way. I also find it very important to really have time for my patients. I have left the pharmaceutical world behind me to focus on a milder form of medicine. A form of medicine in which the whole person is looked at instead of a small part of that person. Here healing is central instead of symptom control, because the underlying cause of the complaint is sought. I have left 'science' behind me for individual medicine. Not everyone reacts in the same way with the same reaction, people are not test tubes. I think it is important to determine per person which causes lie beneath the symptoms and in what way this can be solved for this person. Mesology is a form of integral medicine, in which regular medical knowledge is used to find the cause. When someone is ill, they get complaints, the proverbial straw that breaks the camel's back. These symptoms manifest themselves in their own way in everyone. Combating these symptoms has a covering effect. The signal that something is not functioning properly is removed, but not the original cause. In other words, the bucket is not emptied and the tap is not turned off. A mesologist looks for the underlying cause (tap) and works from there to solve it, so that the complaints then also disappear. For this, the mesologist uses various healing methods, such as regular medicine, homeopathy, orthomolecular medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, Ayurveda (= Indian medicine), phytotherapy and electro-physical diagnostics. Mesology can help with many complaints, especially dormant and chronic complaints, such as abdominal pain, headache, fatigue, recurring inflammation, hormonal complaints, etc. Neurofeedback training is a technique to train the brain to better regulate emotional, physical and mental functions, without using medication. The brain plays a central role in controlling our body. Brain function therefore has a major influence on our entire functioning. When the brain shows a more balanced and stable pattern, many physical, psychological and emotional symptoms can decrease and/or disappear. Neurofeedback can help with ADHD, ADD, PPD-nos, learning and concentration disorders, fatigue, depression, burn-out and much more. Life coaching is a result-oriented way of coaching, where the focus is on lasting change. As a coach I ask specific questions, so that the client finds the answers themselves, which makes the motivation very powerful. In this way, the client does not fall back into old behavioral patterns. I work according to the NAC method of Anthony Robbins, which is based on the model of Neuro Associative Conditioning. The NAC model is structured in such a way that old, unwanted patterns are broken and new patterns are integrated. This creates a powerful self-image and your self-confidence grows. The new pattern can be integrated when there is an emotion underlying it. People associate an emotion with an event and in this way we create specific feelings in the body. In this way, changes in the NAC model are also anchored to emotions and feelings. This is essential to motivate, focus and move people. There are so many different reasons for being overweight, and eating too much is not always the cause. Eating wrong (for you) before and various physiological dysfunctions lead to being overweight. Using electrophysical diagnostics, the individual cause is determined specifically for you and can be worked on very specifically. Through this personal guidance, working on the cause and the solution and with the help of life coaching, everyone can succeed in losing weight. An incorrect body composition can cause many complaints. In this case, someone does not even have to have a too high BMI. BMI says something about the weight in relation to the length. What is much more important to know is your body composition; the moisture percentage, the fat percentage, your fat-free mass, and the place where the stored fat is, says more about your health than the BMI.
