Review Summary

Prior to our arrival in DC, I spoke with the owner Bill on the phone. He gave amazing recommendations on places to go, things to see. He is extremely professional and educated, I was excited to book a night tour with his company. I am so glad we did! My family used their transport service to get from the airport to our hotel. The driver, Sidi was early and helped with everything! Very friendly. We also scheduled the NIGHT TOUR. This was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide, Monty, was extremely enthusiastic to show my family (myself, husband, and two kids) through Washington DC. We stopped at multiple landmarks, and during our drive (we had Sidi again as a driver!), Monty pointed out famous buildings and discussed the importance of each. It was a very fun, beautiful, and educational tour. It was an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Bill, Monty, and Sidi, and Private Tours of Washington!

Review Summary

We had an incredible trip to Washington with Bill Thomas and his team (Private Tours of Washington). Although it wasn't our first time, we had a new and much more complete perspective on the city. The first few days we were with Walter and Joseph. They showed us the Capitol, the Library of Congress, the National Archives, and some of the top Smithisonian museums. We saw the city's emblematic monuments, both during the day and under the night lights. Unfortunately, my mother was unable to go up to see the Lincoln Memorial because the only possible access was through a huge staircase. Joseph kept her company and was very attentive. Walter also showed us the headquarters of the FBI and other important government agencies such as the Pentagon. Along the way he informed us about the interesting facts about the FBI since the days of Edgard Hoover. We went to Virginia to visit the Pentagon. There we saw the exact point where the building was hit by the terrorists. Then we went back to Washington and they showed us where the most recent events that have been impacting the country, such as the Black Lives Matter demonstrations, took place. The next day we wanted to see the Kennedy family tomb. Walter told us why this place was chosen to bury him and the origin of the eternal flame. We also learn the sad history of the property, a magnificent timber farm that was expropriated and turned into a military cemetery by the American government. In the following days we continued with Bill and Sidi. We had a pre-determined itinerary, but talking to Bill, he ended up suggesting other options, much more interesting and aimed at our focus of interest. We went with them to discover more about the city's neighborhoods. We saw where the embassies of the most diverse countries are located and where the most important politicians live. Another trip we took with them was to Alexandria, a charming city that still preserves, in its Old Town, features from the time when it was frequented by George Washington. Back in Washington we went to visit the theater where Lincoln was assassinated. Bill talked about Lincoln's role and told us amazing details about the entire episode. There, we could see that the interior of the theater is fully preserved. A journey through time! They also took us to visit the Kennedy Center, an incredible cultural center. There is so much to see about Kennedy's legacy... Finally, a visit to the charming region of George Town could not be missed. Anyway, we saw so many things and learned so much from them. It was wonderful! We returned enriched by this experience and we just have to thank Private Tours of Washington!

Review Summary

We had a private tour with Private Tours of Washington on April 12, 2024. It was a wonderful time and I highly recommend booking with them. Prior to the date, I had conversations with the owner over the phone. He gave great recommendations on things to see while visiting. The company was easily accessible by phone and email. We were able to customize our itinerary according to our requests. Monty was a great guide on the day of the tour and very accommodating and informative. We had grandparents, parents, teenagers, and adult children, and he kept us all entertained with his knowledge and excitement for his job. It was a great experience. Thank you!
